Detailed specification about this position opportunity kindly see the descriptions. • Physician practice management organization with 25 physicians and 13 mid-level providers in Northeastern Maine seeking a General Surgeon • In the spring of 2007, the practice was designated as a Federally Qualified Health Center, providing enhanced access to health care services for all members of the community, and allowing the practice to employ providers holding H-1B and J-1 visas. • As an employee of this MSG, the successful General Surgery candidate will receive a competitive salary, generous health and welfare benefits package, professional liability insurance, CME reimbursement, relocation assistance, and education loan repayment, if applicable. • The physician will also receive an annual allowance for licensing, DEA registration, professional society memberships, and medical journal subscriptions. • The primary care offices are conveniently located in four communities, and provide a referral source for the general surgery practice. . • 9 Internists (including 3 Hospitalists) and 3 Family Practitioners serve as an excellent referral base • Hospitalists provide inpatient coverage, including weekends at the hospital • Access to the Medical Center outpatient specialty clinics including Cardiology, Pulmonary, Hematology/Oncology, Endocrinology, Neurosurgical, Ear, Nose and Throat, Pediatric Cardiology, Pediatric Nephrology, Pediatric Gastroenterology, and Podiatry, and Rheumatology, along with diabetes counseling and nutritional therapy • Status: Full-time: 5 days per week, including operating time at the hospital. • Patients: Patient profile includes the full range of ages and health status, with a large cohort of elderly patients with co-morbidities • Call: Rotation - 1:3, shared with Vascular and Thoracic surgeons • Must be Board Certified or board eligible in General surgery for consideration • H-1B and J-1 visa candidates will be considered. • Medical Center is 65-bed acute care hospital in Northeastern Maine. • Town is the most northeastern city within the United States, and has a population of approximately 9,000 people.
