The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) follows the outlined plan of care designated by the Physical Therapist. Provides treatment and instruction to patients according ! to acceptable principles and practices of Physical Therapy. Collaborates
as a member of the health care team for the provision of comprehensive patient care. Consistent with training and competency review, provides care to newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for administering physical therapy modalities and treatment as supervised by the staff physical therapist. The PTA assists with the restoration of patient functioning to prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability. Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. The PTA participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains and participates in CQI activities.
Requirements:
Holds current license as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
Current BCLS certification.
For a therapist providing clinical coverage of the Commun! ity Re-Integration program then the must possess a current Mai! ne Driver’s License with no court-imposed restrictions.
A records check will include the Department of Motor Vehicle Files.
This CMHC position must meet the criteria for evaluating vehicle operator suitability.
It has been determined that this position requires either the operation of a system or leased vehicle of the use of a personal vehicle for business purposes on a regular basis as an integral part of the job.
