Peri anesthesia nursing care to adult and pediatric patients who will be undergoing surgery in all Advanced Surgical Care of Maine surgical suites- Kagan, Level 1 a! nd Cardiac OR. Pre anesthesia nurses also provide intraoperative cell salvage and direct assistance to the anesthesiologist in the Cardiac OR. All EMMC nurses participate in activities that promote self and staff development as well as the development of unit specific strategic goals.
Requirements: Current Maine Registered Nurse license. Minimum 2 years med-surg experience required Peri Anesthesia and/or ICU/ER/CCU experience preferred. Excellent IV skills, hemodynamic, and cardiac monitoring required. ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of hire. Variable call rotation including cell saver, 24 hour weekend, holiday, and night call required. A strong team player with good interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast paced peri-anesthesia and cardiac setting in all Surgical Service areas A strong team player with good interpersonal skills.
