The Oncology Pharmacy Practice Residency at Maine Medical Center (MMC) is a one-year, PGY-2 specialty training program that offers extensive hematology and oncology experiences in both the inpatient! and outpatient settings at the Maine Medical Center Cancer Institute (MMCCI). One applicant is accepted per year.
The program is designed to transition PGY-1 pharmacy practice graduates from general practice to a specialized practice focused on the care of patients with cancer. Resident graduates will be equipped to serve as integral members of interdisciplinary teams caring for individuals with cancer in a variety of settings.
The focus of the PGY-2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency at MMC is adult patients with cancer, with an emphasis on supportive care, antineoplastic pharmacology, management of malignant and hematological disorders, investigational cancer therapies, and management of antineoplastic toxicities. The PGY-2 resident will be required to complete one rotation in pediatric oncology.
