JOB SUMMARY: The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for providing diagnostic, habilitative/rehabilitative, consultative and counseling services to indivi! duals with communication, cognitive and swallowing disorders. The patient population consists of neonate, pediatric, adult, adolescent and geriatric.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS :
Preferred: Master's degree in Speech Pathology. State of maine licensure or licensure pending or temporary permit and license.
Desired: 2 - 3 years clinical experience. Experience in a collaborative working environment, CPR
Licensure/Certification: National Certification/Registration and State of Maine SLP License; CPR
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Capable of meeting physical demands required for positioning/transferring patients, transporting equipment. Includes, but not limited to moving patients to and from stretchers, w/c, providing resuscitation and restraining patients when appropriate.
Light to physical effort ~ Occasional prolonged standing/walking ~ manual dexterity and mobility ~ Occasional reaching, stooping, bend! ing, kneeling, crunching ~ Intermittent exertion when performi! ng patient activities ~ Contact with patients under wide variety of circumstances ~ Travel required ~ May make home visits ~ Occasionally subjected to irregular hours ~ Occasionally exposed to radiation.
