Practice Profile: Franklin Health Pediatrics is a Franklin Memorial Hospital owned practice located in Farmington, Maine. The pediatrician position is a full-time, salaried position joining two pediatricians. Call is 1 in 4 with a four day per week schedule. Providers participate in an inpatient pediatric service for admissions and care of acutely ill patients as well as attending deliveries and providing newborn care. Care for ill newborns is also provided with level 2 nursery cov! erage. Franklin Memorial Hospital is a 65-bed, acute care comm! unity hospital with a 40-member medical staff. Patient volume draws from a wide geographic region with 40,000 people. The practice physician staff currently includes:
Lorien Batt, M.D. - A graduate of The Medical College of Wisconsin, Dr. Batt completed her residency at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis in 2004. She joined the practice in August 2008.
Gabriel Civiello, M.D. â€" A graduate of Dartmouth Medical School, Dr. Civiello completed his residency at Maine Medical Center where he served as Chief Resident. He joined the practice in 2013.
Patient volume for office encounters averages 20 patients/day along with 2-3 inpatients or newborns daily. Patients represent a full range of pediatrics, including newborns and teenagers. The practice also supports a successful OB program for deliveries at the Hospital nursery which is classified as a level 2 nursery. The practice is located in the new Medical Arts Center which is co! nveniently attached to the hospital. Providers enjoy an on-site practice manager and office and clinical support staff.
Farmington, Maine is a rural college town, an hour and a half north of Portland and home to the University of Maine at Farmington, one of the best liberal arts colleges in the nation. The area is within an hour drive of three ski resorts and offers four seasons of outdoor recreation with many lakes, rivers and streams as well as hills and mountains. The area’s progressive medical staff affords excellent colleague interaction and referral relationships.
