Per Diem Nurse
Location: Saco, Maine

This position promotes and restores patient's health by providing health care services in a competent manner consistent with parameters of training and licensure.
Monday th! rough Friday 8am to 4:30pm.
Duties would include:
A. Assures quality care by assuming primary nursing responsibility for the care of residents/clients in programs/cottages assigned.
B. Assists staff pediatrician and consulting psychiatrists and specialists by coordinating their services for assigned residents/clients.
C. Assists staff physicians by implementing orders for care, including medication orders via written and oral communication with staff, using the organizationâs computer system.
D. Assures medication accuracy by ordering, labeling, packaging, distributing and checking that medications ordered by the physician are administered.
E. Assures consistent provision of services by monitoring health care and medication administration in programs and by communicating with program staff.
F. Provides necessary medical, dental and psychiatric information by regularly attending and actively participating in team meetings for ass! igned programs/cottages.
G. Participates in group treatmen! t by focusing on health-related subject matter as indicated and available for assigned residents/clients.
H. Maintains accurate computerized database on current clients/residents by entering data in a timely manner.
I. Maintains accurate, current medical records by consistently charting significant health-related interactions, including medical and dental procedures.
J. Maintains information of residents under his/her care by monitoring their physical and emotional conditions.
K. Promotes a healthy, enjoyable work environment by maintaining a clean, well-organized clinic.
L. Helps residents to their medical appointments by transporting as needed.
M. Follows policies and procedures for dispensing psychotropic medications by preparing the written consent forms.
The School at Sweetser in Saco offers an exceptional special education experience for youth, ages 5 to 20, that assists them in overcoming both behavioral and learning impairments. Teacher i! nstruction and educational materials are presented at a level that is developmentally appropriate for peers of similar social, emotional and academic ability. Working with parents and multi-disciplinary teams, teachers develop behavioral and academic goals and objectives which are measured quarterly. The goal of The School is to help students gain the skills they need in order to return to a public school setting. Education Requirements
Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field.
Physical assessment training.
Psychotropic medication training.
Current R. N. license in State of Maine. General Requirements
One year of clinical nursing experience.
Pediatric and/or psychiatric nursing experience.
Use of otoscope, stethoscope, nebulizer, and blood pressure manometer.
Valid state driver's license.
