Englishour is an ACELS-approved MEI member school based in Dublin city centre. With a strong academic team in place, Englishour offers both full and part-time classes to students from all over the world. We are looking for a committed Assistant Director of Studies to work alongside our Director of Studies and Academic Director. Responsibilities include administrative tasks, liaising with academic staff, monitoring the quality of teaching, creating and developing syllabi and the overall school curriculum. This position involves a wide range of tasks so the ideal candidate should be flexible, energetic and good at engaging with a wide range of people.
Duties:
- Working with and reporting to the Director of Studies
- Developing and organising the teacher CPD program.
- Administering class lists, certificates and other student documents.
- Assisting the Director of Studies in placing students
- Interviewing students for feedback and quality control.
- Maintaining best practise as in accordance with regulation.
- Creating and developing teaching materials.
- Covering classes if necessary.
- Inducting new students to the school.
- Assisting with student queries.
- Advising students on exam preparation.
- Monitoring TOEIC exams
- Working on developing the academic department
Skills and requirements:
- Minimum 3 years recent and consecutive experience working in the ELT sector
- First Degree at level 7 on the National Framework of Qualifications or equivalent (essential)
- CELTA or equivalent (essential)
- Knowledge of the ELT sector in Ireland
- Evidence of Continuous Professional Development
