Shipping Clerk [United States]


 

**SUMMARY OF POSITION

**

This position is responsible for the daily coordination within a prescribed area.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

**

Logistics Coordinator

  • Create required documents for daily shipments.
  • Arrange freight services to facilitate shipping or incoming materials.
  • Coordinate expedites required by customers and plant.
  • Fulfill customer orders: domestic, international, samples.
  • Prepare freight for delivery
  • Maintain required materials needed for the office.
  • Maintain locators, inventory accuracies
  • Work with operations and supply chain for questions or issues.

Finish Coordinator

  • Prioritize, set up and communicate work orders to assure timely shipment.
  • Work with operations and production control daily to identify orders which need shipped, short orders, orders missed, orders in baskets and the timing of when they will be worked.
  • Re-print orders, increase orders and release orders.
  • Must understand the impact of changes and deletions have on inventory.
  • Prioritize and set up orders to assure the orders which are needed are completed and shipped first.
  • Look at all hose specs to determine what part numbers can have extra product applied to.
  • Look at hose specs to verify the proper hose is being made for the order.
  • Identify reels with the wrong hose packaged.
  • Produce the labels for all finish orders and assist balers with their labels.
  • Work with the warehouse employees on mistakes, flips, wrong labels, wrong pallets and anything else which needs adjusted.
  • Familiar with coiler setup to assure packaging is correct.
  • General knowledge of all finishing operations.

Duties regardless of work area

  • Able to foster professionalism with all associates along with internal and external customers
  • Monitor and follow all safety preventative measures and practices, including 5S+ safety guidelines

**DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/ NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

**

  • Participate with the area Natural High-Performance Team to identify opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Participate on project teams, star point teams and kaizen events when needed.
  • Attend and participate in all training opportunities required to develop in the role

**ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/ SCOPE:

**

  • Report directly to Value Stream Team Leader or Materials Manager
  • Work closely with other departments to resolve issues with the processes & equipment

**WORKING CONDITIONS:

**

The employee may be subject to:

  • High noise levels from operating machines and equipment
  • Physical hazards from operating machines and moving reels
  • Work in areas where safety equipment will be required (steel toe shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, high visibility clothing)
  • Standing is required for extended periods of time. Walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, turning, twisting, squatting, and lifting is performed on a regular basis
  • Requires high degree of manual dexterity, which could be performed under restrictive conditions
  • Requires flexible hours and short notice for overtime

Salary info:

$18.38 - $22.17 / hr
