The Barbara Bush Childrens Hospital (BBCH) at Maine Medical Center is currently seeking a Pediatric Critical Care physician to join a 3 member group. The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit has 10 beds with 400+ admissions per year.
The Barbara Bush Childrens Hospital is the tertiary medical center for children serving the state of Maine and southern and eastern New Hampshire. The Childrens Hospital medical staff represents all the pediatric medical and surgical subspecialties that provide comprehensive services for children, including trauma care, surgery for congenital heart disease and renal transplantation. The critical care division also supports and supervises a 24/7 pediatric transport team.
Critical care physician responsibilities include direct supervision and education of residents in pediatrics, medicine-pediatrics and emergency medicine during their pediatric critical care rotation. The successful applicant should be Board Certifie! d/ Board Eligible in pediatric critical care medicine. Interes! t or participation in research, patient safety and quality initiatives is encouraged but not mandatory. Multiple administrative and leadership opportunities exist within the Departments of Pediatrics and Critical Care for qualified individuals. Maine Medical Center is academically affiliated with Tufts University School of Medicine. Academic rank at Tufts University will be granted commensurate with experience.
